For Parents

undergraduates

Dear parent:

Your son has made a wise choice in joining Delta Chi of Delta Kappa Epsilon.

Our chapter has offered an important support system to undergraduate students at Cornell since 1870. You can read more about our historic landmark lodge and our proud history.

You can trust Deke to treat you son with respect; Deke strictly prohibits any hazing. In addition, alcohol and drugs are absolutely banned from our lodge.

If your son is moving into the house, we will provide him with furniture (including a bed and desk) comparable to that provided in Cornell dormitories. We also offer a meal plan that serves food on Sundays through Thursdays, as well as a 24-hour kitchen.

Deke collects funds from students through Cornell’s Bursar bills. Our fraternity’s room, board, and dues are debited to the student’s account, and our scholarship awards appear as a credit on the account, just like any Cornell dorm rent or non-ΔΚΕ scholarship. Each brother also provides a refundable damage deposit.

I hope to meet you in person at one of our house events. If you have any questions, please contact me at bob@racepacket.com.
